Stage one of Pimpama City Shopping Centre completed

Stage one of the 30,000sqm Pimpama City Shopping Centre will be completed this week, less than a year after ADCO Constructions took possession of the site.

“We started to clear the site in September 2017 and had to retain the original site dam until we had completed storm water culvert diversion around the dam,” ADCO CEO Neil Harding said.

“Once that work was completed we were able to drain the dam, rescuing and relocating various eels, turtles and fish.

“We were then able to start filling this area and prepare it for the installation of two underground stormwater retention tanks with a combined capacity of 1.6 million litres which were all installed before Christmas last year.

“In addition, we placed three 45,000 fuel tanks and a 17,000 litre LPG tank in the ground.”

Despite numerous delays due to constant wet weather the team was able to complete filling on the site and prepare building pads for the three buildings.

The first stage of the retail precinct will see the United Petrol station, Red Rooster and Carls Jr (the first on the Gold Coast) open followed later by a Pizza Hut and Chinese restaurant. ADCO is delivering the design and construction of Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5 which will include up to four new buildings.
