Armoured Fighting Vehicle Facilities Program

ADCO is proud to have supported the Department of Defence on the Armoured Fighting Vehicle Facilities Program (AFVFP) – Stage 1 at Puckapunyal Military Area in Central Victoria.

ADCO’s role focused on completing the remaining critical elements of this strategically significant Defence project with this recent work aimed to support the next generation of synthetic training for Armoured Fighting Vehicles. The facility includes a series of advanced training facilities, anchored by the new School of Armour, a 10,000m² purpose‑built simulation facility designed for individual and collective training across interactive, group‑based and lecture‑style environments.

The project required a targeted approach to re‑engaging trade partners and navigating complex challenges to meet demanding handover requirements. The successful completion and handover of these facilities enable the ongoing delivery of critical ADF training operations.

In October 2025, the facility was officially named the O’Donnell Centre, recognising LT GEN L O’Donnell (Retd), AC, with generations of his family in attendance, an important milestone for a facility that will support Defence capability for years to come.

We have now delivered several projects at the Puckapunyal Military Area. We are proud of the determination and professionalism shown by our people and our partners in delivering this outcome for Defence.
