Common Ground
Perth, WA Common Ground
ADCO has completed the East Perth Common Ground project for the Western Australian Government. This landmark development comprises 112 self-contained apartments, communal spaces, on-site support services, and commercial areas, offering safe and secure housing for Western Australians experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
Common Ground is a cornerstone of the State Government’s All Paths Lead to a Home: WA’s 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness (2020–2030), and we are honoured to play a role in creating meaningful change.
For ADCO, the community has been at the heart of our story for over 50 years. Throughout this 22-month project, our team embraced initiatives that matter, including blue scaffold mesh as part of our ‘Something Blue’ campaign with Beyond Blue, encouraging mental health awareness and conversations with colleagues, hosting Mates in Construction workshops to promote suicide prevention and awareness of mental health and providing Christmas toy donations supporting families and kids that otherwise would not receive gifts on Christmas Day.
Delivering this complex project in the Perth CBD required commitment and collaboration, and we are proud of what has been achieved.
This project involved the construction of 29 studios and 83 one-bedroom apartments with self-contained kitchens and bathrooms, a secure landscaped podium with shared BBQ areas, shade structure and seating areas, communal dining, lounge and kitchen spaces, leasable commercial spaces for the provision of on-site medical services, café and community services. Office spaces and meeting rooms for Community Housing providers and operators, and vehicle parking.
