Clayton, VIC Monash SAEF

ADCO was proudly builder of choice for Monash University’s ‘Securing Antarctica’s Environmental Future’ (SAEF) fit out.

In response to rapid change in Antarctica and the South Ocean, the SAEF Program, funded by the Australian Research Council and participating organisation, will deliver world leading research that will forecast environmental change across the Antarctic, deploy effective environmental stewardship strategies, and secure Antarctica as a natural reserve devoted to peace and science. This space will provide a home for the SAEF community on Monash University’s Clayton campus and enable interdisciplinary collaboration of SAEF national and international partners and collaborators.

The fit out for SAEF includes workspaces that accommodates staff, researchers and students across a mix of open plan and individual focus rooms including meeting rooms and collaboration spaces. The works also included roof replacement and an external glass lift.

ADCO worked very closely with the University’s project management team and key stakeholders to ensure the works had minimal impact on students, staff and operations. The facility operates 24/7 with lectures running during the night for overseas students, student residencies and the busiest time on the campus between normal working hours.
