Monash University Student Accommodation

ADCO is pleased to be the Builder of Choice for the 1937 Student Accommodation Project at 55 College Walk, at Monash University’s Clayton Campus. The project will support the University’s continued investment in high-quality, on-campus residential facilities.

The project comprises the design and construction of a single hybrid Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) student accommodation building of approximately 8,000 m², delivering 252 student beds in the form of single ensuite rooms. The development will include a welcoming and secure entrance foyer, shared kitchens and lounges on each level, dedicated study and wellbeing spaces, music and games rooms, offices, laundries, bicycle storage, integrated parcel lockers, and inclusive facilities including DDA-compliant and accessible self-contained rooms. External works will incorporate landscaped areas, informal recreation spaces and supporting back-of-house infrastructure.

ADCO will be responsible for design management, procurement and construction, progressing the design through to construction documentation and delivery while maintaining compliance with Monash University’s Eco-Accord principles. These include a strong emphasis on all-electric systems, energy efficiency, airtightness, high internal environmental quality and durable, high-performance materials. The project is due for completion in mid 2027.
