Perth, WA Royal Perth Hospital ICU

ADCO was the builder of choice for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) works at Royal Perth Hospital, as part of the $20 million redevelopment of the central hospital’s facilities.

The redevelopment now offers 24 single rooms, including one positive pressure room, four negative pressure rooms and two rooms equipped to accommodate bariatric patients.

The unit has been developed to be optimised for COVID-19 conditions, including frequent air changes throughout the unit, separate rooms fitted with switch glass windows and a ventilation system that enables the safe accommodation of both COVID and non-COVID patients.

Well done to our team and project partners who together with The Department of Finance, East Metropolitan Health Service, Hunt Architects and the consultant team fast-tracked the delivery of this project during the COVID-19 pandemic. WA Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson opened the completed project which commenced taking patients very soon after.
