Waurn Ponds Sporting Complex

ADCO is proud to be partnering once more with Development Victoria to deliver the new Waurn Ponds Sporting Complex. The project is a major regional sports and community hub, being delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with the City of Greater Geelong and the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners.

Designed as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, the project will deliver a new indoor high-ball stadium with six multi-sport courts, a regional-level gymnastics facility, a dance studio and hall, change rooms, community spaces, and all-electric amenities with EV-enabled parking.

The project has been co-designed to reflect local cultural heritage, with Wadawurrung-led storytelling embedded into the built form and landscape, and will target a 5 Star Green Star rating through solar energy, efficient thermal performance, and passive design.
More than just a facility, the complex is envisioned as a long-term legacy investment in Geelong’s liveability, health, and economic participation. It will provide accessible, inclusive spaces for sport and community events, support job creation, and contribute to the region’s event-hosting capacity. The project is due for completion for early 2027.
